Edwin Perry Manchester began recording in 1998, under the name "Univac",
way back when he only had an analogue delay and some home made tape
loops. He was so excited, he thought he invented noise himself. Of course
this was not true in the least, so he abandoned the Univac moniker, moped
for a bit, then one day picked up his delay pedal again, went out, got some
new gear and started over as D-503.
D-503 got some good press in the noise scene, made a few albums,
collaborated with some cool people, and one day completely dropped off the
map. Hampered by a move and enrollment into college, D-503 was also
abandoned.
With the birth of Manchester Bulge in 2002 came the birth of Edwin Perry
Manchester as a solo artist once more, performing a few shows and recording.
Many more noise making things were acquired and built, and now Edwin Perry
Manchester stands ready to annoy and bewilder the young and elderly, and
rock the socks off of anyone with an ear for noise.
Thank you.
