Lava-Proof Boots (formerly Dependable Skeleton) is the product
of an obsession with percussion in relation to melody. All beats
must be cut, stuttered and mangled. Breakbeats are often employed,
although the occasional foray into the outside world for field
recordings to construct beats are not unheard of. Percussion can
just as easily be a kicked dumpster or door slam as a bass or snare
drum. A melody can be made from metal friction or an analog
synthesizer; written on a tracking program or performed live on a
broken violin. As long as sound can be captured, it can be manipulated.
No sound is safe. Beware, citizens, your sounds may be next.
